welcome ceremonies. The difference between a secular and a church ceremony is that a secular ceremony has no religious component, whereas a church ceremony is linked to a specific religion and its ceremony.
In Switzerland, 2.2 million people identify themselves as non-denominational. This represents 30.9% of the population. In the past, funerals, marriages and baptisms were often conducted by clergy or other religious representatives, but today many people prefer an individual and personal ceremony.
